Assist With Food
Assist With Food assists your AI, so it can assist you with every aspect of food.
Your AI can already identify an ingredient from a photo, adapt a recipe for an allergy, explain why a sauce broke, or suggest three taco places. What it cannot do on its own is remember.
Food is the place for that memory: a private, annotated kitchen notebook of what you cook, what you eat out, what you buy, what you want to learn, and the people you feed. You can browse it, and your AI can read it, add to it, and use it again next week or in five years.
“Compare the same five things — burger, fries, shake, chicken sandwich, soda — at four places near me.”
What changes when your AI can remember
| An idea to try | What your AI can help with | Your AI with this site |
|---|---|---|
| What is this ingredient in the recipe? | Explain what it is, how it is used, and what to look into if you are considering a substitution. | Keep the explanation and its sources beside the recipe that prompted the question. When you try the ingredient, add your own photo and impression. Your AI can connect what you learned about it with what you actually enjoyed. |
| My version came out differently. What might explain it? | Work through your ingredients, method, and observations, suggest explanations, and help choose a useful change to try. | Keep that Cook attached to the exact Recipe Version you followed. Your photo and outcome explain the next revision. When version three becomes the favorite, you can still see which changes helped and which were simply different. |
| Which of these local places would suit tonight? | Research options, compare them with your preferences, and help identify details that need a fresh check. | Put researched candidates beside places you have actually visited, with dated menu, price, and experience notes. Your AI can see why you liked one place last time; you can compare the evidence without treating an old menu or price as current. |
| Let's compare the versions of a dish we keep ordering. | Help define what you care about, organize your tasting notes, and discuss differences without replacing your taste with a universal score. | Build a Comparison linking each dish to its place, visit, photo, dated price, and your rating. A table lets you compare the details that matter to you; group and filter by cuisine, location, or the qualities you choose. Your AI can distinguish a researched option from something you have personally tried. |
| What would a year of delicious experiments look like? | Help choose a theme, design varied experiments, compare what you learn, and write about the discoveries worth sharing. | Connect Recipe Versions, Cooks, Places, comparisons, and research. A restaurant experience can inspire a recipe; a failed attempt can inform the next one. Keep your tastes, research preferences, and discussion style as you change AIs, and compare another assistant's suggestions with what you have tried. Your own experience remains at the center of the collection. |
You, your AI, and this site
You
Decide. What to cook, where to eat, and what to buy stay your calls. A ranking from your AI is a suggestion until you choose.
Your AI
Researches, interprets, and creates: reads the menu photo, compares the prices, adapts the recipe, and says where each answer came from.
This site
Stores, connects, versions, and shows: every price with the date it was seen, every recipe with its versions, every change with who made it.
Connecting your AI
Add this address as a custom connector in your AI app, sign in, and choose Allow. That is the whole setup.

- Which AI can I use?
- Any AI app that can add a custom connector (MCP) can connect directly. You can switch AIs whenever you like; your record stays here. If your AI app can't add a connector, you can still describe things to it and add what it tells you here yourself.
- What does connecting let my AI do?
- Read your food records and the photos you allow, and save its research and records with its name on them. It cannot archive or delete your records, change its own permissions, or do anything outside Food. Your AI app may still ask you before each tool runs.
- Can my AI order food or book a table through Food?
- No. Food records and compares; it never orders, reserves, pays, or contacts anyone.
- Who can see my records?
- Only you, signed in. Records are private by default, and nothing is shared with other Assist sites.
